Every year on April 7th, we celebrate a global health awareness day — World Health Day. This commemorates the founding of the World Health Organization, and more importantly brings awareness and attention to global health issues.

A theme is selected each year to highlight a specific area of public health concern in the world. Past themes include:

Our Planet, Our Health (2022)
Support Nurses and Midwifes (2020)
Health for All: Everyone, Everywhere (2019)

This year's theme

Together for health.
Stand with science.

It was chosen to underscore the importance of scientific collaboration and evidence-based innovation in building stronger, more resilient healthcare systems worldwide.

This theme is a powerful entry point for healthcare professionals to advance the continuum of care, guiding a patient from preventive wellness through acute treatment and into long-term recovery. The theme can help rebuild trust in science and public health, allowing healthcare teams to use this day to highlight how scientific collaboration improves patient outcomes.
Some ways to do this include sharing stories of how data is used to coordinate care, empowering the patient transition when they leave your facility, and advocating for science-led equity to ensure the continuum of care covers all.

Whether it comes to protecting HCPs or improving patient outcomes, CONMED is proud to promote world health.
