Argo Knotless®
Suture Anchor
Frequently Asked Questions
The Argo Knotless® product family is available in two distinct material configurations to match surgeon preference and clinical needs:
PEEK: A high-performance thermoplastic with a vented design that allows for bony integration.
GENESYS™ Biocomposite: Formulated with microTCP™, this uniformly embedded blend optimizes absorption rates, may promote bone in-growth, and increases material strength by up to 51%.*

The Argo Knotless® system introduces Smart Tension Technology, which gives surgeons maximum control to precisely set, feel, and lock in the desired tension on the suture construct before the anchor threads engage the bone. This helps eliminate the risk of over-constraining the tissue or losing tension during insertion, resulting in consistent, anatomical footprint compression.
Argo Knotless® features a state-of-the-art buttress thread design. This fully-threaded construct maximizes bone-to-implant contact and thread purchase, significantly minimizing the risk of anchor pullout — even when performing repairs in compromised or lower-density bone.
This depends on the SKU selected. CONMED offers a Self-Punching (SP) option featuring a rigid titanium tip configuration. This allows surgeons to completely skip the bone-tunnel preparation step and move directly to anchor insertion, shaving valuable time off the procedure. Traditional non-self-punching configurations are also available for cases where manual drilling or punching is preferred.
The Argo Knotless® driver handle features a mechanical, push-button Quick Release Mechanism. Once the anchor is inserted to the appropriate depth, pressing the release button mechanically retracts the driver from the anchor body. This allows for smooth, straight-back withdrawal and eliminates the need for back-malleting or stressful twisting in the joint.
To support advanced multi-limb and double-row constructs, the extended suture eyelet is designed for high-capacity, seamless loading. It can easily accommodate:
- Up to six limbs of #2 Hi-Fi® Suture or Hi-Fi® Ribbon.
- Two CONMED Hi-Fi® Tapes combined with two #2 Hi-Fi® suture limbs.
Standard SKUs come pre-loaded with one 1.0mm Hi-Fi® Ribbon.
The Argo Knotless® Anchor is designed for soft tissue-to-bone fixation in orthopedic surgical procedures. Common applications include rotator cuff repair and instability/labral repair.
Yes. The Argo Knotless® Anchor is available in 4.75 mm and 5.5 mm configurations, allowing surgeons to select the size that best fits the procedure and patient anatomy. Both sizes are offered in standard and self-punching options.
Yes. The Argo Knotless® Anchor features a state-of-the-art threaded buttress design engineered to maximize thread engagement and fixation strength — including in lower-density bone. This robust thread pattern helps minimize the risk of anchor pullout, supporting reliable fixation even in challenging bone quality scenarios.
