Earlier this year, we announced the launch of Argo Knotless® GENESYS™, the newest addition to the Argo Knotless® Suture Anchor family. In this blog, we’ll dive a little deeper into the GENESYS™ material and how it can make a difference in your OR.

Advantages of The GENESYS™ Biocomposite Material
GENESYS™ is the family name for our line of biocomposite material products made with microTCP,B-TCP in micro form. The GENESYS™ material has 22% microTCP™ uniformly embedded within 78% 96L/4D PLA1.
CONMED’s patented micro-filtration process enables the creation of microTCP™. MicroTCP™ boosts material strength by 51% and allows for a more even distribution of particles, This makes the GENESYS™ material more uniform & less fragile than the materials used for competitive biocomposite anchors. We utilize a higher percentage of B-TCP than our competitors (22%), meaning the GENESYS™ material is designed to promote greater bone-in growth than competitive products.

Additionally, the 96L/4D PLA material is a unique combination of polymers that have enabled the creation of a screw that maintains high initial strength during healing and accelerated degradation post healing with the ability to completely resorb over time.
