Infinity AIM™

Meniscal Repair Device

Frequently Asked Questions

Infinity AIM™ is versatile enough to accommodate a variety of meniscal tear patterns, including longitudinal, bucket-handle, horizontal, oblique, and transverse tears.

The Infinity AIM™ incorporates multiple safety features: an adjustable retractable sheath that protects anatomy during joint entry, a blunt push rod that extends past the needle after the second implant is deployed to shield tissue during tensioning, and a tapered PEEK suture cutter that protects the femoral condyle.

Thanks to its hidden implant design, side-by-side mechanical testing shows that the Infinity AIM™ reduces the piercing diameter by up to 36% compared to leading competitive all-inside devices.*

*Piercing diameter defined as the highest diameter that would pierce the meniscus with an exposed implant and needle combined. PDD1924378.

To ensure efficient access to various tear locations, Infinity AIM™ is available in two needle configurations: a 25-Degree Standard Curve and a 15-Degree Reverse Curve.

The system utilizes ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) Hi-Fi® suture paired with a patented friction-locking PEEK implant mechanism. This configuration achieves true knotless fixation with high stability under load.

By utilizing a patented knotless friction-locking design rather than traditional sliding knots, the device minimizes cyclic displacement ("suture creep"). This maintains tight tissue approximation and lasting repair integrity throughout the healing process.

The ergonomic handle features an integrated, patented tensioning wheel. This allows surgeons to manage suture tension directly inside the joint using just one hand, eliminating extra steps, touchpoints, and the need for a separate external tensioning tool.

No, the in-joint tensioning mechanism is not the only option. You can also use the suture cutter, which doubles as a knot pusher, allowing for effective manual tensioning.

Knotless repair eliminates the need for arthroscopic knot tying, helping to simplify the procedure and improve surgical efficiency. It also enables controlled, consistent compression across the repair site, while minimizing implant bulk within the joint.

Yes. The Infinity AIM™ system comes preloaded with two implants, helping to streamline the procedure and reduce preparation time in the operating room.
