The LUCL can be repaired by placing a TruShot® with Y-Knot® into the lateral epicondyle of the humerus
The Lateral Ulnar Collateral Ligament (LUCL) is one of the four ligaments that make up the Lateral Collateral Complex of the elbow. This ligament originates at the lateral epicondyle of the humerus and inserts at the supinator crest of the ulna. It plays a vital role in posterior lateral stability of the joint, but can become detached from the lateral epicondyle insertion site upon dislocation of the elbow or excessive valgus force resulting in surgical repair.1 After anchor fixation into the lateral epicondyle of the humerus, the sutures can be passed through the proximal end of the LUCL and reattached to the original lateral epicondyle insertion site.
