The Medial Collateral Ligament of the knee is a thick band of connective tissue located on the inner side of the knee that functions as a primary stabilizer when valgus force is applied.2 It originates at the medial epicondyle of the femur and inserts at the medial condyle of the tibia, and is often torn upon abrupt stopping, twisting, or force on the medial side of the knee.
