The pectoralis major muscle allows for internal rotation, forward flexion, and adduction of the shoulder. The tendon has two heads, the clavicular and sternocostal head, which insert into the lateral side of the intertubercular sulcus of the humerus. This muscle is commonly torn due to an acute injury and often tears at the bone-tendon insertion site.
