Laparoscopic Hysterectomy

A Unique Solution

Hysterectomies involve the removal of the uterus, sometimes with fallopian tubes and ovaries. When done with a minimally invasive approach, the procedure has several surgical challenges due to the loss of pneumoperitoneum during the dissection of the vaginal cuff. There is also a significant amount of smoke produced.

CONMED's AirSeal® system offers a unique solution by being able to maintain pneumoperitoneum even with an open vaginal cuff, while providing superior smoke evacuation to maintain field visibility. Its design also allows for easier ventilation by anesthesia for multiple comorbid patients in steep Trendelenburg. Clinical data has shown benefits to the patient, including reduced PACU stay, shorter procedure times, and reduced length of stay.1-4
