Cookies Policy

  1. Use of Cookies

CONMED Corporation, located at 525 French Road, Utica, NY 13502, United States ("CONMED") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on the www.conmed.com site ("Site"). Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile device by websites that you visit. They are widely used in order to make websites work, or work more efficiently, as well as to provide web services and functionalities for users. For example, they enable you to improve your experience on the Site and enable the Site to remember your actions and preferences (such as login, language, font size and other display preferences) over a period of time, so you don’t have to keep re-entering them whenever you come back to the Site or browse from one page to another.

  1. Types of Cookies

Cookies may be either "persistent" cookies or "session" cookies. A persistent cookie consists of a text file sent by a web server to a web browser, which will be stored by the browser and will remain valid until its set expiry date (unless deleted by the user before the expiry date). A session cookie will expire at the end of the user session, when the web browser is closed.

We use the following types of cookies:

Strictly Necessary Cookies: These cookies are essential in order to carry out a request initiated by you, for example by remembering information provided by you as you move through the site and managing your logged-in status during the session. You cannot opt out of these cookies as the Site cannot function properly without them.

Performance Cookies: These cookies allow us to collect data relating to your use of our Site, including the content on which you click while browsing on our Site, in order to collect and record information about what you viewed on our website, to measure the effectiveness and user interaction with the Site and improve our Site over time and to help us understand the size of our audience and traffic patterns. These cookies may be provided by our third-party analytic tool provider, Sitecore, but are only used for purposes related to our Site.

Functionality Cookies: These cookies allow the Site to remember choices you have made in order to provide functionality for your benefit. For example, functional cookies allow the Site to remember settings specific to you, such as your country selection, language preferences and persistent logged-in state if selected by you, and other customized features.

Targeting Cookies: These cookies remember information regarding your use of our Site so that we can serve promotional and other targeted information to you specific to your interests on our and other websites.

Beacons: We also place small "tracker gifs" or "beacons" (a.k.a. clear GIFs, web beacons, web bugs or pixel tags) on many of the pages on our website. These are tiny graphics with a unique identifier, similar in function to cookies. In contrast to cookies, which are stored on your device’s hard drive, "tracker gifs" or "beacons" are embedded invisibly on web pages. We use these, in connection with cookies, to collect non-personal data on the usage of our website including but not limited to track the activities of Site visitors and users, help us manage content, and compile statistics about Site usage. We and our third-party service providers also use clear GIFs in HTML emails to our customers, to help us track email response rates, identify when our emails are viewed, and track whether our emails are forwarded.

The table below explains the cookies and web beacons we use at the Site (both website cookies and third party cookies) and why we use them.

Analytics: CONMED uses Sitecore Analytics, a third-party web analysis service provided by Sitecore using "performance cookies" to analyze how you use the Site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the Site (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Sitecore on servers in the United States. This Site uses the Sitecore Analytics version such that only abbreviated IP addresses will be further processed, so that a direct connection to the individual user is eliminated. Sitecore will use this information on behalf of CONMED for the purpose of evaluating your use of the Site, compiling reports on website activity, and providing other services to CONMED relating to Site activity and Internet usage. You may prevent the use of Sitecore Analytics by disabling cookies in your browser's set up screen as described below.

You can delete the cookies that are already on your computer and you can set your browser to prevent them from being placed.  Disabling cookies may, however, prevent some of the Site or Services from working correctly. Please be aware that when you have set your computer to reject cookies, it can limit the functionality of the Site and it is possible then that you do not have access to some of the features of the Site.
