BioTwist®
RC Soft Tissue Anchor System
The BioTwist® RC
implant is molded from Poly-L-Lactide Acid (PLLA)
and retains the benefits of bioresorbable fixation,
which include radiolucency and a history of clinical
effectiveness and safety.
The simple screw-in method of insertion reduces various
steps that are often cumbersome when repairing the
rotator cuff. The anchor is placed through the
rotator cuff tendon and into the pre-punched pilot
hole. By simply screwing the anchor into the
bone, the torn tissue is easily repaired. The
low-profile head design eliminates any potential damage
to surrounding soft tissue as well as any boney structures.
In addition, the tapered, smooth shank underneath
the head of the implant will accommodate the largest
of rotator cuff tears without further damaging the
tissue. Most notably, the system eliminates
the need for any suture passing or knot tying.
- Bio-absorbable PLLA material
- Sutureless design eliminates the need for knot tying
- Low profile head design
- Minimal instrumentation required
- Tapered smooth shank for increased strength under the implant head
