Contour™ Meniscus Arrow™

The new Contour™ Meniscus Arrow™ implant is indicated for the repair of vertical, longitudinal "Bucket-Handle" tears of the meniscus in the vascular zone (red-red-white) through arthroscopic and open methods. The Contour™ Meniscus Arrow™ implant features a low profile contoured head, which sinks into the meniscus while compressing the tear. It is barbed along the entire length of the implant shaft for superior fixation strength.

The Contour™ Meniscus Arrow™ implants are made of a new proprietary Self-Reinforced copolymer, 80L/20D,L PLA, which imparts to the implants an ultra-high strength microstructure that has a unique ability to resist shear and torque while the tear is healing. The new 80L/20D,L PLA copolymer is a faster resorbing implant material that will continue to provide strength for up to 24 weeks while the tear is remodeling and then gradually resorb away.

Meniscus Sheath

For use with either the Crossbow^® or manual cannulas. Allows easy atraumatic insertion of the cannulas into the space. The flexible sheath accommodates curved or straight cannulas.

Delivery Systems: Hornet™ Inserters

• The diameter of the cannula is 3.4mm
• The working length of the cannula is 105mm
• The angle at the distal end of the inserter is 17 degrees
• For each of the three inserters the guidewire protrudes approximately 1-3mm beyond the end of the implant during insertion
• The distal end of the cannula is flared slightly to prevent damage to the meniscus surface
• The Linvatec name and logo now appear at the distal end of the cannula. They appear on the proximal side of the viewing window. Now, when the device is placed into the joint the Linvatec name will appear on the screen
• The handles are color coded to match the color dot on the packaging of the implant
  - 10mm = Red
  - 13mm = Purple
  - 16mm = Teal
• The ergonomic handle allows for a precise placement of the implant with a slow steady motion

SharpShooter^®Meniscal Repair System

An evolutionary product for the inside-out technique of meniscal repair, the SharpShooter system is less demanding, and less difficult to master when compared to other inside-out techniques. Useful for repairing a wider variety of tears, the SharpShooter system allows the surgeon to repair meniscus tears more accurately and with less assistance in the operating room.

Patented Delivery Handle:

• Gives the surgeon complete control over targeting suture needle with a single handed operation
• Allows suture needles to be advanced in safe increments

Anatomic Cannula System:

• Series of six cannulas, sold separately, allow the surgeon to gain access to all aspects of the meniscus
• Allow for maneuverability in tight compartments
• Allow for easier and safer passage of suture needles

Unique Suture Needles:

• 13” Double-armed needles with 2-0 polyester braided suture conveniently pre-attached
• Needles incorporate a visual mark (20 mm flat area) to provide an estimate of distance traveled
• Strong, yet flexible for easy passage

Zone Specific^® II Meniscal Repair System

A complete system of cannulas, needles and rasps specifically designed for inside-out meniscal repair procedures.
Six pre-bent cannulas provide optimum access to all zones of the meniscus.
Funnel ends make loading of needles safe and easy, and fluid venting ports direct fluid away from the surgeon.

Double-arm meniscal repair needles are made of stainless steel, and are ultrathin and strong, yet flexible for easy passage. They have #2/0 polyester braided suture conveniently pre-attached. Meniscal repair needles are made of flexible nitinol, and have a large eyelet at one end to permit easy threading of suture material. Four styles of meniscal rasps promote vascularity of meniscal tissue prior to suturing, with minimal risk to articulating surfaces.
