MATRYX INTERFERENCE SCREW
The Matryx™ Interference Screw is the latest addition
to the line of bioabsorbable interference screws from
the company that first introduced this technology
to the market. The Matryx Interference Screw was designed
in conjunction with ConMed Linvatec Biomaterials Limited
with innovation, enhanced biologics, and improved
clinical outcomes in mind. The Matryx Interference Screw
is intended for use as an interference fixation device
for bone patellar tendon bone (BTB) and soft tissue
grafts in ACL and PCL reconstruction. The Matryx Interference
Screw is composed of Self-Reinforced™ 96L/4D
PLA and beta-Tri-Calcium Phosphate. ß-TCP has been shown to provide
a matrix that allows for bone ingrowth. These features, combined
with the torsion and insertion strength of the tri-lobe
driver interface, provide the surgeon with the confidence
to use this implant in the procedures where interference
fixation is desired. Offered in a variety of sizes
and compatible with existing instrumentation, this
innovative screw represents the future of interference
fixation.

BioScrew® Bio-Absorbable
Interference Screws and Delivery System Clinically
equivalent to metal interference screws.
- Made of Poly (L-Lactic Acid), the screw is gradually
absorbed and eventually disappears.
- BioScrew®
screws have a long-term absorption rate which
ensures secure graft fixation throughout the healing
process. Any future revision surgery is free of implant removal
complications because the screw is absorbed or
can simply be overdrilled.
- BioScrew® screws are packaged sterile, single use.
- The BioScrew® tri-lobe accepts the
Guardsman® graft protector as an optional
protective barrier between the screw and graft.

SmartScrew®ACL
The SmartScrew®
ACL Interference Screw is indicated for graft
fixation in Orthopaedic procedures, including
ACL and PCL reconstructions with bone-patellar
tendon-bone or soft tissue autografts and allografts.
The SmartScrew® ACL provides
easy and atraumatic insertions with excellent
graft retention for any graft type. The unique
Self-Reinforced 96L/4D copolymer combines optimal
strength retention during the healing period
with a safe and faster overall resorption. This
gives the SmartScrew® ACL screw
a significant material advantage when compared
to 100% PLLA polymer interference screws.
- Torsional strength characteristics that are unmatched by
other resorbable interference screws.
- A reduction of the stripping and cracking that is
associated with resorbable interference screw
insertion.
- A standard cannulation for all implant sizes eliminating
the need for multiple sized screwdrivers and guidewires
– thus simplifying the surgical procedure.
- A large diameter guidewire reduces the chances of
the guidewire bending or kinking during insertion
and removal.
- New larger diameters provide excellent interference
fixation in revision surgeries or when larger
tunnels are prepared.

fixation device is a proprietary, unique device

BioScrew® Interference Screw to provide enhanced fixation
of soft tissue grafts within the femoral socket
during ACL reconstruction.

SmartNail® 2.4mm
Linvatec is very pleased to announce the release of
the new SmartNail 2.4mm implant. The SmartNail implant
is a bioresorbable bone fixation nail intended for
use in the fixation of fracture fragments resulting
from trauma or osteochondritis dissecans lesions.
The Self-Reinforced™ manufacturing process preserves
high initial mechanical strength and stiffness of
the implants. In the presence of adequate immobilization,
the SmartNail implant maintains accurate alignment
of small bone fractures and apex fragments, osteochondral
fragments, and cancellous /non-loadbearing fragments
after an arthroscopy or open surgery.

Cannulated Interference Screw
Unique, double-helix thread provides unbiased, symmetrical
starts, while limiting veering and divergence.
Specially refined distal end reduces abrasion
where it is most critical, offering unequalled
protection. Aggressive-pitch thread enables screws
to be inserted with half the turns of normal screws.
All Propel screws accept a standard 3.5mm hex driver
for confident driving in difficult situations
and simpler revisions. The Taper-Tip style offers
sharper initiating threads and a more pronounced
taper for faster, easier insertion.
