Problems
- CO2 gasses are not sterile.
- CO2 gasses can contain particulate
matter.
- Body Fluids can be carried into the insufflator
due to pressure fluctuations, forming a bacterial/viral reservoir
that can be infused into other patients.
Unless
You use CONMED Insufflation .1 Micron insufflation Filter and Tubing Set
- Bacteria are about 1 micron in size...the .1
Micron Filter excludes them.
- Particulate matter and Body Fluids are also
blocked.
