ConMed Linvatec attracts people who are passionate about improving the lives of others. They do so not only through their work, but also through direct involvement in charitable causes. ConMed Linvatec supports and applauds the dedication and generosity of our employees.
Employees have extended their time and financial support to many causes over the years, including the SPCA, the Red Cross, Junior Achievement, Operation Shoebox and many other organizations, including on-going commitments to the following efforts:
United Way
Since 1992, employees have supported the United Way through payroll and yearly deductions, resulting in hundreds of thousands of dollars in donations.
Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
One of our employees, a breast cancer survivor herself, initiated fundraising efforts at ConMed Linvatec for the Foundation. There is now an active committee the spearheads the fundraising each year. They believe that “actions speak louder than words.” Through bake sales, employee cookbook sales, raffles and matching company donations, ConMed Linvatec Team Cure has raised enough donations to enter more than one hundred employees in the annual Race for the Cure for the last four years.
RCS Food Pantry
Employees donate items on an on-going basis to food pantry boxes located at the Largo facility. Each year at Thanksgiving, many ConMed Linvatec employees decide to donate their company turkey to the food pantry.
All Children’s Hospital Charity
Over the past five years All Children's Hospital Charity (ACHC) and ConMed Linvatec have donated more than $70,000 to the All Children's Hospital based in nearby St. Petersburg, Florida. ACHC is a 501(c)(3) registered charity, created by the employees at ConMed Linvatec for the purpose of helping this meaningful cause. The charity raises money for the hospital through rummage sales, car washes, annual golf tournaments, selling flowers and candy on Valentine's Day, and even dunk tanks. During the annual All Children's Hospital Telethon, company employees volunteer to man the telephones and ConMed Linvatec's ACHC board members present the donation from the employees and the company on live television.
Donations of Medical Equipment
On several occasions, ConMed Linvatec has donated equipment for use in developing countries. Most recently, ConMed Linvatec donated 12 sets of PowerPro Max handpieces, attachments and batteries to Operation Walk, a non-profit organization that provides free surgical care to patients who would not otherwise have access to care for arthritis or other debilitating bone and joint conditions.
“We helped make a huge difference in a lot of people’s quality of life, and it reminded me why all of us, both healthcare providers and vendors, are in the business in the first place.” - Sales Representative and volunteer for Operation Walk
