LOCATION: CHICAGO, IL Duties: Location XXXXX. Starting in 1983, ConMed Linvatec pioneered the field of arthroscopy with new products and techniques. Our current offering in sports medicine includes the MVP Suture Passer, bioabsorbable implants like the Mini-Revo and Matryx screw, and the Spectrum II Tissue Repair System, and many other gold-standard products. We are seeking Physician’s Assistants, First Assists, RNs and Nurse Practitioners with current, first-hand knowledge of arthroscopic procedures to join our team as Clinical Specialists. In this exciting position, you will be the key conduit of knowledge and training to our sales force and customers in your region. Through your expert knowledge of sports medicine, you will help our sales representatives develop their expertise in anatomy and surgical techniques. You will develop and implement surgeon education programs, identify opportunities for new products, and provide input to marketing and R&D. Primary Objective: Under the direction of the Director of Professional Education, the ideal candidate will provide technical & clinical support for the continual education of the ConMed Linvatec sales force, in-house personnel and surgeon customers. This includes but is not limited to: • Develop and Implement surgeon education programs • Curriculum development for sales force education • Ensure strong competencies in anatomy, physiology, and procedure specific techniques at sales force level • Expert clinical knowledge on orthopedic / arthroscopic procedures and instrumentation • Identify new techniques and opportunities for product development • Provide corporate presence and staffing at Orthopedic Learning Center • Liaison with marketing and R&D, on program and product development • Coordinate professional education programs including cadaveric and model workshops • Assists Professional Education Director, Marketing, and Marketing Communications writing surgical techniques, instrument system manuals, webcasts, and CD-ROM / DVD technique development. • Support technical services department to optimize customer responsiveness • Provide appropriate follow up on R&D project information • Assist R&D and Regulatory Department with clinical and user defined perspective • Assist R&D and marketing with new product testing and user verification & validation • Onsite support and staffing at key domestic conventions/trade shows and professional education programs. • Other duties as deemed necessary by the Department • Travel approximately 25 - 40% domestically Requirements: • BS / MS degree in life sciences (Physician’s Assistants, RNs, Nurse Practitioners, First Assists) • 3-5 years orthopaedic / arthroscopic experience and the ability to show an in-depth knowledge of current orthopaedic / arthroscopic procedures and concepts • Strong interpersonal communications skills both oral and written • Strong presentation skills • Strong computer and web research skills • Ability to teach and develop training materials • High energy level with professional attitude • Ability to work independently / self-motivated • Ability to travel a necessity 30 - 40% • Some weekend work required Salary and bonus commensurate with experience and education.
